BoKlok UK: A 2021 Round-Up

As 2021 draws to a close, BoKlok UK are delighted to celebrate some significant milestones.

Over the last year, BoKlok have launched two residential schemes in the UK. In March 2021, the first sales for BoKlok on the Brook were made, the flagship development for BoKlok in Bristol, comprising 173 houses and apartments on Airport Road. BoKlok UK are delighted that the private sale homes here are now all sold – with 97% of the homes going to first time buyers.

In November 2021, sales commenced for BoKlok on the Lake in Worthing, the second residential scheme for BoKlok in the UK. The collection of 152, one and two-bedroom apartments in West Durrington has been well received, with nearly 70% of the first release of homes reserved at the sales event. Nearly 90% of purchasers at the event were first time buyers, with 77% opting to use the Government Help to Buy scheme.

In addition to this, BoKlok have significantly expanded the UK land team this year, in a strive to meet ambitious targets over the next five years to deliver more homes for the many people. What’s more, globally BoKlok has undergone a significant brand refresh in 2021 as well as the roll out of new websites across all four regions – Sweden, Finland, Norway and the UK.

Reflecting over the past year, Graeme Culliton, Managing Director, BoKlok UK, said:

“2021 has certainly been a significant year for us at BoKlok UK, with some great success stories and some important lessons learned. The continuation of the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on the construction industry has been widely reported and at BoKlok, unfortunately we are not exempt from this. Labour shortages and material delays have taken their toll and we continue to work hard to mitigate their impact, wherever possible.

“However, despite these challenges, there are many positives to be taken from the last year. We have successfully launched two brand new developments – delivering sustainable, great value new homes to many local first time buyers, eager to take their first step onto the housing ladder. Schemes such as Help to Buy, which we have had available at both developments, have proved vital, making home ownership more accessible to more people.

“We are very excited to be welcoming our first home owners into their new homes in 2022. With a number of new developments already in the pipeline, there will be lots more opportunities to become part of a BoKlok community near you, very soon!”

All of the homes at BoKlok on the Brook in Bristol have now been sold. A limited number of two-bedroom apartments remain for sale as part of the current phase at BoKlok on the Lake in Worthing.
